Westell DSL modem = paperweight

Still no DSL. Verizon is "diligently working to repair the problem" according to the tech I talked to today. *mad*

Verizon only issues Westell modems for your line. Try another Westell- borrow one if possible, or your tech should have one for testing... actually the Verizon tech they sent out to check my Westell banged on the old one and it fixed it (loose contact inside), but they sent a new modem out anyway just in case.

If the modem appears ok and Verizon tests the line and it's ok, bang on the modem. I got Verizon to send a tech out ASAP due to religous phone calls every day asking for support.

(Verizon used to issue Fujitsu as well, but IIRC now most new lines REQUIRE the Westell modems, and no, the Fujitsus will NOT work on those lines due to a different technology being used. DSL over ATM = Westell modem; DSL over Frame Relay = Fujitsu modem. And no, you can NOT get your line type changed, don't even ask!)

You might try http://www.DSLDepot.com. They have modems and lots of info on them. I think they have westells for $46

Does anyone know where I can buy a power adapter for my Westell modem? I misplaced mine.
