China 2008: Day 8: Shopping in Mong Kok
Simple, easy day. Over to Mong Kok, where the hotel directed us to some more conventional (less fancy!) dim sum. Turns out we just missed the carts and instead had to order from the menu. Ten tasty dishes-- a purely absurd amount of food-- came out to HKD200 (or was it HKD250?). Less than US$30? Wow. I'll be coming back for this! The locals were probably amused; we shared a table with 6 others and I think we had almost as much food as they did. o_0
Then we went shopping. Not too much to say here... random "race queen" sighting, completed with ten zillion amateur photographers, only she was advertising for something other than cars (was it an electronics store?).
Unlike my last trip, my more through exploration this time allowed me to find a few outdoor stores, kind of like minature REI's or Adventure 16's. Prices, unfortunately, weren't all that great. Diana and I met up later, had dinner at a noodle shack buried in the side of an alleyway (again, AWESOME food), before wandering some more and then wandering home with a million shopping bags.
Diana presumably has photos from clubbing that night, but I was boring and had to stay in to do work. >_< (funny, I can't just keep taking vacations all the time without work catching up to me eventually... *grins*)
