Off to Barcelona, where a quick plane flight and taxi ride put us smack in the middle of things yet again. The hotel made an excellent recommendation called Bar del Pla for lunch, which had tomato jam on toast, more deep fried eggplant, mushrooms, and a french-toast-and-ice-cream dessert. Mmmmmmm... Wandering by later at night would show the place jam-packed with customers, so we clearly weren't the only ones who loved the place.
More low-key wandering the rest of the day, then a somewhat less successful dinner at La Gambeta, which was clearly more of a tourist trap. The paella was still delicious and the location had quite a bit of modern-yet-old-school character, but didn't impress us as much as lunch did.
