Lots of Food Trucks
Jogasaki Sushi Burrito truck still does the best sushi burritos. Spicy tuna and spicy salmon are both nom nom, something about 'em just works better than their competitors. About the only cautionary note is to be careful what you order; quite a few of their choices have shrimp tempura inside, and that tends to dominate the flavor if you do order a burrito with that in it.
Poke 2 Go is a new truck that was the next day's visit. Combined with The Boba Truck's superb, individually-brewed cups of milk tea (taro FTW!), Poke 2 Go was quite solid. They only do ahi tuna poke, but the aloha poke and the spicy poke were both quite good. Would be nice if they did salmon or octopus, but heck, given the cost of raw fish, even the pricing wasn't too bad. Would definitely visit again...
Then a last-minute realization that the Clover Ave food trucks were gathered lead to the one disappointing visit, The Mighty Boba truck. The Greasy Weiner (which is okay) and the Pudding Truck (never been-- looked good, but didn't have room for dessert...) were also there, but a craving for popcorn chicken struck. Turns out that was a mistake.
The taro milk tea had evident sugar syrup still in it, yuck, and the popcorn chicken and deep fried tofu were poor at best. Popcorn chicken wasn't even quite that, more like little bits of chopped up fried chicken-- did they miss something in the breading? Deep fried tofu needed some hot sauce but didn't even get that, just a scoop of plain rice and some so-so veggie bits.
Still, four food trucks, three excellent meals/drinks, can't complain too much...
