Fooding
Quick visit at the Long Beach Marathon Expo, where, surprisingly, Brooks now has a big presence. Usual vendors otherwise, so nothing worth getting excited about.
Breakfast Bar for some surprisingly lousy french toast and a merely decent blood mary. From the huge crowds outside, I expected better.
Finally dragged my butt to Kagura in El Segundo for dinner. The gozen sets are the thing to get there, but I was saw duck, beef tongue, and soba on the menu so went for those instead! Duck was forgettable but the beef tongue was delicious, soba wasn't bad, agedashi tofu was superb, and finally, the tempura was very, very good.
Japanese contemporary wood, private booths, and shared tables make up the interior. Very classy and good food. Plus, unknown to me, it was the City of El Segundo's 100th birthday celebration, complete with parade and fireworks!
