Yayoi Kusama's creative, unusual talents on display at The Broad. Her Infinity Mirrors exhibit plus with macro and micro scale, phallic-looking fabric tubers, dots, and lots of lights. They herd you through the individual rooms themselves in 30 second bites, which kind of sucks, but due to the absolutely insane demand there's been, it's the best they can do!
Infinity Mirrored Room - The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away, is indeed an experience, although some angles inside lead to crazier effects than others. Ditto for Infinity Mirrored Room - Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity, with its dramatic fade from lights to dark. Infinity Mirrored Room - Love Forever, is a minature room compared to the other two (as well as compared to Dots Obession), yet it's also a unique experience.
Some other works are bit more mundane or a bit more weird; fantasy and sci-fi lovers may get a kick out of Life (Repetitive Vision), and of course, the end room is The Obliteration Room, which wasn't quite what I expected. Still random, evolving, and kinda cool.
Definitely worth a visit.
