Took a break from hanging out with families with small children this morning to meet up with Diana for dim sum and pearl tea. Some ridiculously large har gow and shu mai at Hong Kong Flower Lounge, plus the usuals-- beef tripe, chicken feet, gow choy cuon (pan fried version of gow choy gow). Then some truly excellent milk tea at Boba Guys!! (Straus Family organic milk and all. Had no idea their condensed milk would be so much better. So good!)
Then back to families with small children-- met up again with the Lai's at the Udompanyanan house. The older kids (Kai, Mason, and Sora) are now old enough to play together, roping Auntie Ophelia and Auntie Sue into board games at least twice. Auntie Ophelia + Mouse Trap may be their new favorite! They splashed around in the creek as well later in the afternoon, giving the ladies a break from the kids (well, except for Baby Jad) while the boys watched the older kids. Took a trio of soaked kids back to the house in time for dinner, much to the amusement (and exasperation?) of the ladies.
It's actually pretty cute to watch the kids get old enough to become friends... and a reminder that holy crap we're getting old!
Might have been a brief detour for drinks at Happy Lemon in the afternoon too, but it doesn't come anywhere close to Boba Guys........ *grins*
