Long Beach Marathon
Had a nice relaxing run-- caught up with Mike and Allison and Albert pre-race, then had a leisurely 13.1 (1:53:40, slug-like!). Got a little warm the second half of the race, felt like not enough water stations? And the Kool-n-Fit tent at mile 10 wasn't there this year, even though they were at the expo! ;_; OTOH, the California Dreamin' medal was different than the one earned at SF Marathon earlier this year, and was pretty cool.
Pretty decent lunch for a tourist area at George's Greek Cafe, then left the Lee/Chen/Wang families to do their thing.
Had a mid-day snack at Blazin' Hens/Slider Stop in Redondo Beach. It was... overrated. Nashville XL chicken sandwich was a thin piece of chicken, too thin to have much flavor on its own besides the hot sauces they had coated it with, and it was all covered in the same cabbage as the cole slaw. Honestly, if the chicken patty was cut a little thicker, it might actually have enough flavor to significantly improve the sandwich. Maybe other menu items are better, but as-is, this was not a restaurant I would return to.
