Singapore/New York
Extended a mileage run to Singapore to actually stay for a night and catch up on the food scene, then found out relatively last minute that United was having a special event in New York, and even more to my surprise, I was actually able to get off the wait list and get in. So what became a normal(ish) mileage run turned into an 11,000 mile jaunt and quite the trip, highlighted by United Airlines' introduction of their newest business class seats and updated Boeing 787 configuration.
Day 1: catching up with an old coworker, Michelle, at Jame Enoteca, before starting the typical trans-Pacific jaunt to Singapore.
Days 2/3: fooding began pretty much immediately on arrival, although there were a few breaks to enjoy the beautiful day and do some shopping.
Day 4: Singapore to San Francisco to New York makes for a very long day, compounded by multiple flight delays and consequential schedule reshuffling.
Day 5: attending United's unveiling of their new Polaris business class product, upgraded Premium Plus (premium economy), and economy seat as well, under a project branded as United Elevate.
Day 6: taking the first flight of the day home to minimize the risk of delays departing from Newark International Airport.
