Dominican Republic
Working the whole week, even remotely, meant not a whole lot of exciting pictures. Tried a few more of the restaurants; dinner at ATL (Mexican) had a pretty decent pozole, so-so tacos, and a flank steak entree that was probably the best of the lot. The corn cake dessert used actual corn and might have been the highlight of the trip for desserts.
One lunch was at Huzur, the Mediterrean restaurant by the pool/beach. Pretty forgettable, but at least service was quick, and they didn't screw up Tiff's grilled chicken. Later in the week, randomly ended up at the other beach-side building, the bar/restaurant called Miraflores, for lunch. Unlike the painfully slow service at Sospiro and at ATL, Miraflores' ceviche came out quickly, and was pretty good, although the seasoning on one of them was mostly spice/heat as opposed to any particular flavor.
Dinner another night was the casual Italian place, Sospiro, where the buffet looked a lot like the buffet we'd seen at breakfast and lunch. Chicken parm was pretty solid, pasta was just a tad too far cooked to be al dente, the desserts were clearly straight from the refrigerator. The meal was definitely ruined by a server with a severe attitude. Maybe he just didn't like Asians, as he seemed fine with the other diners? Tried to salvage it with ice cream from the dessert shop after, but it wasn't very good either.
