Back to India's Tandoori to catch up with MJ. Solid Indian buffet and always good to discuss what's going on in south campus.

Then lunch the next day at UCLA Bombshelter; the smashburger place there finally had no line, and the smashburger was quite decent. Then randomly ended up at the brand new (open just this week) Raising Cane's in Westwood for dinner.

Their chicken is bland considering how popular it is, but even for an early dinner, they were bustling. They consolidated several spaces into one for this new Raising Canes location, and while they were busy, there was no problem finding seating. The kitchen is quick and the rest of the experience is very typical for Southern fried chicken fast food, just larger in scale than most fast food places. Prices are pretty reasonable as well. Still don't understand why they are so popular, but I do hope they succeed, as Westwood badly needs some additions to its food scene, chain or otherwise.
