Food Trucks
Food trucks at Clover Ave weren't quite as interesting this time. Sweet Arleen's is still pretty good, but with Sprinkles and Frosted Cupcakery both nearby, it's hard to justify waiting for them to come around.
Mandoline Grill's bun and banh mi... they were sold of bun barely an hour in, and the grilled pork banh mi-- while perfectly sized bits of fatty grilled pork-- was otherwise forgettable. The tofu taco had nicely cut strips of fried tofu, but the tofu and the taco were both so-so at best. Disappointing, since there just isn't much other Vietnamese food in the area, so even okay Vietnamese food is welcome. A little more authentic on the bread or a tad more flavor in the pickled veggies might've done it, but it didn't.
Sadly nothing comes close to Nom Nom, and even the poor second fiddle that was Phamish was better than Mandoline Grill...
