The Dante's Inferno Test has

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Sixth Level of Hell - The City of Dis!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:

LevelScore
Purgatory (Repenting Believers)Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers)Very Low
Level 2 (Lustful)High
Level 3 (Gluttonous)Very High
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious)High
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)High
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics)Extreme
Level 7 (Violent)Very High
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)Extreme
Level 9 - Cocytus (Treacherous)High

Take the Dante's Inferno Hell Test

"You approach Satan's wretched city where you behold a wide plain surrounded by iron walls. Before you are fields full of distress and torment terrible. Burning tombs are littered about the landscape. Inside these flaming sepulchers suffer the heretics, failing to believe in God and the afterlife, who make themselves audible by doleful sighs. You will join the wicked that lie here, and will be offered no respite. The three infernal Furies stained with blood, with limbs of women and hair of serpents, dwell in this circle of Hell."

Yeah, I know I'm a heretic according to Dante... what else is new? I dispute the Gluttonous and the Violent rankings though. I may think about it, but I don't actually do it...

In-f*cking-credible... one hour circling around

In-f*cking-credible... one hour circling around Pete and Nick's apartment to find a parking spot.

If there are pagan gods, there must be higher and lower gods (a la Raymond Feist and Midkemia) of parking, and I must have really, really pissed off the higher god of parking. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...

*sigh*

Some things in life should come with warning labels. The warning labels might still be utterly useless, but it'd be funny if they were there.

Fracking Big Blue Bus. I'm

Fracking Big Blue Bus. I'm running late today so I skip my first bus... I come outside 4 minutes early for my next bus, only to see it pass me as I walk out of my apartment. ARGH! So I take the third bus, which drops me off from class 20 minutes late. *sigh*

Oh, the irony... I just got parking at UCLA too, but Parking Services didn't notify me until last night, after they were closed. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!

Forgiveness for the things I do
But before you come to any conclusions
Try walking in my shoes
Try walking in my shoes

This song is stuck in my head. No, I don't know why... anyway, back to trying to stay awake in class...

I know it's totally random, but I feel obligated to do it now that I'm busy thinking about it.

In other news, progress on homework this week has been going reasonably well. Progress on website updates continues, too. The Ars System Guide April update is now up over at Ars Technica, too. Disccusion forum link is here.

XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2.0 are what I've just started looking at for the next significant revision of my personal website.
version 0.1 wasn't memorable. I think it was a couple of lines of text and that was it.
version 0.2 wasn't memorable either.
version 0.3 was on now-defunct dragonfire.net and used frames and an imagemap, I think.
version 0.4 was still on dragonfire and was still framed, but I think I ditched the imagemap and made my code a little more HTML 4.01 compliant.
version 0.5 is what you're seeing now. The feel and layout are reasonably decent, but the code still isn't fully HTML 4.01 compliant.

I've been debating working on version 0.6, which was originally planned to be HTML 4.01/CSS 2.0 compliant, for a while now. I've also been planning a switch to Coranto or Moveabletype instead of blogger... but the energy to do one or both shifts just isn't there. My friend greatoz's site is XHTML 1.0/CSS 2.0 and uses Coranto, and his site looks pretty good.

I figure that if I'm going to actually get off my butt and put in the work to redo my site, I might as well do it to the latest standards and learn it all first. So. We'll see. Seriously, it is a lot of work. The 0.4 to 0.5 migration of the basic site structure alone took place in one big hurry when dragonfire abruptly said they were shutting down, and to work out the basic ~10 pages that make up this site to a standard I already knew took 9 hours. Any migration that comes now will likely lurk in the background as I learn XHTML and CSS...

Tried to do "power hour" last night with Barry... 1 shot of beer a minute for 60 minutes. I was using Corona, Barry was using Mickey's (ick!). Barry started 3 minutes ahead of me, but he took a cigarette break somewhere around ~45 shots and was drunk to the point of passing out soon after. I had 45 shots, puked*, and kept drinking (!). Got some funny video of Nicole dragging Barry up the stairs!

* = it was "my stomach hates this, time to puke" rather than being totally fucked up, dizzy, wasted, puking. I don't know how this is "better" than the usual puking, but I felt fine afterwards and was back to my usual buzz...

Woke up this morning, spent the day shopping with Barry and Nicole. The entire day. Crazy. Got a lot of useful shopping done at least... and figured out why women generally have shoe collections 5x~10x the size of men. Nicole needed black sandals for her dress... and holy jeebus women have a million different styles of black sandals. Aldo alone had like 10 different styles of black sandals with heels. Sheesh! (yes, damnit, some look fricking sexy... but man, how much choice do you need?) eek! smiley

BCBG had a really nice pair for $168. YIKES!
Why do I mention this?
(Heck I didn't even know of BCBG was until last year!)
Anyway... here's the answer... In the front of the store though, they had strawberries, grapes, cheese, crackers, water, and champenge (sp?), so Barry and I didn't complain about shoe shopping... we just kept snacking! Yummy!!
("sure they look great!" *munch* "yeah, but they're $168 HEY!!!!!!" *chomp* *munch* "They don't have your size? Ohh, I'll take this bottled water!") biggrin
