Bangladesh
Nice and uneventful flight from San Francisco to Singapore, with apparently one of United's best pursers out of San Francisco International Airport, Jaws. United's fried cod is okay in business class, the pre-arrival meal of congee is sometimes awesome, this time was ground beef for protein, which was pretty meh.
Had a short layover in Singapore, then a quick ~3.5 hour flight from Singapore to Bangladesh via a Singapore Airlines 787-10. Their economy class is pretty nice for economy class, including hot towel service, although I skipped the meal and opted to sleep. Arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport was about as expected-- not a very big or nice airport, considering it serves a city of 36 million, although immigration wasn't as bad as expected (yay for getting a visa before I showed up). Arranging a car pickup from the hotel was absolutely worth it, because they can meet you still in the secure area-- because as promised, the actual land-side area is absolutely packed with people.
The drive from the airport to the airport-adjacent Le Meridien Dhaka was a bit longer than expected, mostly due to road layout (it is much faster going from the hotel to the airport), then it was time to check-in, shower, and go to bed, after a very long day of travel. Had just enough energy left to explore my upgraded hotel room, which was a massive three-room junior suite, including separate living area and separate desk/working area. Quite stylish in many ways, but also a bit of an odd layout for part of the room.
