Original lunch plan was pho, but that went out the window when the place we wanted to go was closed, so we ended up at a rather middling place called Volcano Curry instead. Pearl's chicken katsu sandwich was impressive looking at least, even if we had to pay for pickled veggies. Just a block or two down, NaYa Dessert Cafe was much more impressive. Banana roti dessert was a bit sweet and carby but a pretty good way, definitely not the usual way I eat roti. The melon snow and the mango tango were similar yet different takes on shaved snow, both quite delicious, although if I had to stick with one, the melon snow is prettier.
Thought the afternoon would involve Pokemon Go, but instead we played board games-- where Simon proved as formidable a competitor as Sue-- before gathering for Grandma Lai's birthday dinner at Dragon Beaux. Grandma and Grandpa Lai put on a feast as usual, and it was not only a delicious meal but a very happy birthday to Grandma Lai!
